Ingredients

  • Eggs
  • Water
  • Food coloring - do what colors you love

Directions

  1. Gather your eggs and sit them on the counter prior to getting the rest of your supplies together. This small amount of warming will help.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to boil, and when it is boiling, use a spoon to lower the eggs into the water.
  3. Boil eggs for 11 minutes (12 at my elevation).  Remove the eggs from the water, and place on a towel and walk away for 30 minutes.
  4. Crack the eggs to remove the shells, then rinse to make sure it's all off.
  5. For each color you are using, take a plastic cup and fill it halfway with water. Add 25 drops of food coloring, stir.
  6. Place the eggs into the colored water and allow them to sit for 2 hours.  That's it. Proceed as you would - eat or make deviled eggs from them.

It was fun to switch things up from time to time.  When you spend a lifetime of making easter eggs, even long after your kids are grown, you can play
