Ingredients:

  • 1 pint (about 1 lb) fresh strawberries, washed and dried completely
  • 6 oz (about 1 cup) semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or butter (optional, for a shinier finish)
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions:

  1. Make sure the strawberries are fully dry after washing. Any moisture will prevent the chocolate from sticking properly.
  2. Using the Double boiler method, place a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water (without touching the water). Stir the chocolate until melted.
  3. Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, twirling to coat evenly. Let excess chocolate drip off.
  4. Place the dipped strawberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.

Optional White Chocolate Drizzle:

  1. Melt white chocolate using the same method as above.
  2. Drizzle over the chocolate-covered strawberries using a spoon or piping bag for decoration.
  3. Let the strawberries sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes, then transfer them to the fridge for about 30 minutes until the chocolate is firm.
