Ingredients:
- 1 pint (about 1 lb) fresh strawberries, washed and dried completely
- 6 oz (about 1 cup) semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips)
- 1 tsp coconut oil or butter (optional, for a shinier finish)
- 1/4 cup white chocolate (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions:
- Make sure the strawberries are fully dry after washing. Any moisture will prevent the chocolate from sticking properly.
- Using the Double boiler method, place a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water (without touching the water). Stir the chocolate until melted.
- Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, twirling to coat evenly. Let excess chocolate drip off.
- Place the dipped strawberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.
Optional White Chocolate Drizzle:
- Melt white chocolate using the same method as above.
- Drizzle over the chocolate-covered strawberries using a spoon or piping bag for decoration.
- Let the strawberries sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes, then transfer them to the fridge for about 30 minutes until the chocolate is firm.
