Banana Brulee Oatmeal

Banana Brulé Oatmeal

Ingredients

 

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 Tbs brown sugar
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1/2 banana
  • 2 Tbs nuts pecans or walnuts

 

Directions

 

  1. Bring water to a boil in a small pot. Add the oatmeal, turn the heat to low and cook for 5 minutes. In a small sauté pan, add the butter and brown sugar, over medium heat.
     
  2. Cook until the butter is melted and the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the banana and cook until thoroughly heated through. Add nuts if you prefer.


 

To Serve:

Put the oatmeal in a shallow bowl, top with the butter/banana mixture and sprinkle with nuts if desired. Add a small amount of milk around the edges of the oatmeal. Enjoy.
