Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Who doesn't love a good bowl of oatmeal in the morning?

Ingredients

  • 1/2 medium apple – chopped
  • 1 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oatmeal
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk or cream for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small non stick, add the coconut oil and the chopped apple. Saute for 3-5 minutes until the apple is soft. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon and turn off the heat.
  2. In the meantime, cook the oatmeal according to directions. Add water to a saucepan, bring to a boil, and add the oatmeal. Cook for 5 minutes.
  3. To serve it up - add it to your favorite bowl, top with some additional butter and the apple mixture.
