Ingredients

  • 1 recipe pie crust (or store bought)
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into bite size pieces
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups diced cooked ham
  • 1 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Directions

  1. Prepare the ingredients as necessary. Set the eggs out to warm to room temperature. Microwave bland the broccoli for 2 minutes. This more or less par-cooks it just a bit and ensures it is cooked completely.

  2. Preheat the oven to 350. Slide your piecrust into the pie plate and begin by adding the chopped ham, and the broccoli.

  3. Sauté the onion and garlic for 3 minutes in a small pan for about 5 minutes, then add to the pie plate.

  4. Whisk the eggs, cheese, and milk together, add the spices and pour over the ham and broccoli. Sprinkle an additional bit of cheese over the top.

  5. Bake for 30-40 minutes until done.

Not the best looking quiche…but it tasted great.  I am a big fan of quiche, but unfortunately my husband is not.  I win though, because I do the cooking.
