Buttermilk Waffles

Servings:4

Prep time:5

Cooktime:

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 Tsp. Salt
  • 1 Cup Whole Milk or Buttermilk
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tsp. Vanilla
  • *Optional 3 tbsp melted butter
  • *Optional 1-2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Whisk the flower, baking powder, soda and salt together, set aside.
  2. Using a 2 cup measuring cup, add the buttermilk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
  3. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.
  4. In another large bowl combine eggs, milk, vanilla, and oil and whisk to combine.
  5. Dump the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and mix just enough to combine and make sure you get all the dry ingredients from the bottom mixed in well.   Do not overmix, lumps are ok as long as they are small.
  6. Using a 1/4 -1/2 cup measuring cup, scoop your waffle batter onto a hot iron, close the lid.  To keep the waffles crispy, use a rack in the oven, or just eat them as they come out.
