Bananas Foster French Toast

 

 

Prep time: 5 Min - Cook time: 10 Min - Total time: 15 Min

 

 

Ingredients

 

Quantities are Per Person

 

  • 1 banana per person, sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 slice of thick bread, 2 if using regular bread
  • 1 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, 1 yolk removed, scrambled

 

Instructions

 

  1. In a flat dish, place the raw eggs mixed, and the bread. Allow this to soak for 1-3 minutes per side. This can rest here for up to 15 minutes.
  2. When ready to cook, heat a non-stick dish with 1 tbsp of butter. Add the egg soaked bread mixture and cook each side until nice and brown and toasty. Remove the bread to a plate.
  3. Add 1 tbsp butter, and 1 tbsp brown sugar to the pan, along with the sliced bananas. Sauté for 3-5 minutes, until the bananas are soft and the sugar is starting to caramelize. Drizzle over the bread and devour.

Notes:

 

Who needs a recipe for this? No one, but if you do, well, here is one that will work every time, because it's so simple.
